Skill Requirements:

Education: Some high school

Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): 1st Period Apprentice, 2nd Period Apprentice

Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years

Languages: Speak English, Read English, Write English

Work Setting: Agricultural equipment, General manufacturing

Type of Machine Experience: Conventional

Machining Tools and Machines: Boring machines, Drill presses, Engine lathes, Milling machines, Screw machines

Measuring Tools: Micrometers, Callipers, Gauges

Weight Handling: Up to 9 kg (20 lbs)

Specific Skills: Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables, Repair machine tools and parts, Fit and assemble components and machine parts to close tolerance, Verify dimensions of machined tools and parts using precision measuring instruments, Maintain, repair and calibrate precision measuring instruments, Document and report deviations from specifications and tolerances

Own Tools/Equipment: Tools, Safety equipment/gear, Steel-toed safety boots, Safety glasses/goggles

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Tight deadlines, Physically demanding, Standing for extended periods
