Job Title: Instrument Technician

Job Overview:
Reporting to the Maintenance Lead, the Instrument Technician will initially be responsible for pre-commissioning activities at the module construction yard in Edmonton followed by site commissioning and start up activities. During the operations phase, will be responsible for the day to day facility maintenance as it pertains to Instrumentation, controls and low voltage electrical. This role is preferred to reside in Fort McMurray but a rotation may be considered.
Job Location: Algar 1 Lake SAGD Project
The Algar 1 Lake Project is located 40 km’s South West of Fort Mc Murray. This Grizzly Oil Sands Project will implement the use of Steam Assisted Gravity Drainage (SAGD) technology to extract 10,000 barrels/day of bitumen over the life of the Facility.

Qualifications:
• Journey Instrument Mechanic or Dual ticket with Instrumentation being primary trade
• 5 -7 years industrial experience at the Journeyman level
• Vapour Compression Evaporator & Drum Boiler experience
• Thermal In-situ operations experience
• Experience with Rockwell PlantPax & Control Logic systems
• Endress & Hauser end device experience
• Ability to safely coordinate, schedule and execute work within a project team
Responsibilities:
• Health and Safety performance for self and team members
• Maintain an operating facility in an environmentally responsible manner
• Preventive maintenance program\procedure development
• Measurement and Reporting Program experience (regulatory)
• Troubleshooting and minor tuning of control loops
• Calibration, repair and critical spare parts management
